This trackball works just like the name brand one. I took a side by side picture for comparison. This one is a little bit bigger but works just the same. I have big hands and this one fits my hand better. The first one I received was missing one of the three rollers that the ball rides on. Amazon exchanged it and the replacement one works great. It immediately connected by Bluetooth to my laptop running Linux Mint. Good deal!
