I like to work with older computers mainly because I can’t afford to buy a new one every 2 years. I installed an SSD internal HDD and it’s like a whole new machine. I got a SSD external to back it up but the transfer rate was really slow. I did some googling and found that my USB 2.1 port didn’t support the speeds my SSD’s was capable of. So I needed USB 3.0 to get faster transfer speeds. Luckily I found an upgrade for my old computer that gave it 4 USB 3.0 ports. I was so relieved once again I didn’t have to buy a new computer to get higher transfer rates.
