I am a casual video gamer, who loves playing on the PC. But over the years my graphics card has been getting a little long in the tooth. I was using an Nvidia GTX 960, and while it kept up surprisingly well, It had started to not be able to handle modern titles. Not to mention completely lacking new feature like DLSS or Ray Tracing. I was originally trying to hold off for a 40 series card from NVIDIA, but with all the prices and rumors being so weird i decided to just go for it. I got the ZOTAC Gaming Geforce RTX 3060 Ti and it has made my experience so much better!
I used to only be able to run Indie and older titles at the max frame rate, but now those are no issue at all. I used to only be able to play triple A gaming titles at medium settings if I wanted to get close to 60 frames a second, but now I can push out high settings at high refresh rates. I am actually looking into a high refresh rate monitor now! This has improved the level at which I able to play in first person shooter titles, and I have started to play competitively in games like Modern Warfare 2. And the Ray Tracing from this card is beautiful. I do see a tad of a hit in performance but its definitely worth it in the right game!
This card is super quiet and the IceStorm 2.0 Advanced Cooling keeps it from ever getting too toasty, no matter what application I am running. I play a lot or shooters now like Modern Warfare and Destiny. I think that has a lot to do with this new card. If you have been holding off for a new GPU i would say now is the time to upgrade. You will not be disappointed with the improvements and I believe it is totally worth it. I had seen some people on the reviews saying weird things, but I say as long as you have good thermal control in your pc case you should have no issues. Be prepared to swap a dud out if you have to.
