I rescue a lot of dogs from shelters and foster them. Some times I need a little extra help to build trust with them and bond. To do that we usually will use exercises and games. That Is when I came across this handy new little toy called the Nina Ottosson by Outward Hound. This is an Interactive treat puzzle that allows me to build a closer relationship with my fosters.
The toy puzzle is circular and I can hide treats inside of it for Stacy, my dog, to figure out how to get into. It is so much fun to watch her get frustrated when trying to figure it out. My other rescue Alec is a Chihuahua and he gets so mad at the thing that he starts to try and chew on it! fortunately the plastic and wooden material is 100% safe and free of all those nasty things like PVC and BPA. This is fantastic because there really isn’t any stopping him.
I have even used this toy for some of my other animals. I have an Amazon parrot that loves puzzles and I let her try it too. I think she ended up loving it the most because I can fit her favorite treats inside it. She set the record for fastest puzzle solver by a long shot of course. This makes my dogs jealous with how fast she is able to get into it. There are 3 levels to the puzzle that increase in difficulty. A few of my other dogs haven’t made it past level 2. So this toy will probably end up lasting us forever!
