From the thickness and color of the cardboard shipping box, and the details on every side of that box, I could tell this wasn’t a typical knock-off production. Everything was packed in thick bags and thick foam.
I decided to spend extra (compared to the offerings ranging from $120-$150) because I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning it. My daughter had previously purchased one the less expensive ones for herself, and it’s really shoddy.
For any of these chairs, the fact the seat sets so high from the base is an immediate engineering challenge, and one that the Boliss company has succeeded with.
It’s sturdy, has a thick foam seat, and even the plastic casters are better than any I’ve previously encountered on an office chair. I may even leave these on here because they roll so nicely and felt so sturdy when I assembled it.
