Got a brand new TCL Roku 4k TV and as soon as I hooked it up I noticed that whenever I was watching actual 4k content, the screen would flicker every few seconds. If I was watching normal 1080p it worked fine and the old tv did not have this issue but also wasn’t 4k.
I returned the tv and got another one just like it and had exactly the same problem… i thought it may be an issue with that model TV so I returned it again and this time upgraded to a more expensive LG 4k TV that was actually a bit smaller. Hooked it up and had the exact same flicker.
I contacted my TV Provider (Dish) and did troubleshooting with them for SEVEREAL HOURS. They decided to replace my receiver box and I had to wait a week on that. Hooked the new one up and EXACT SAME PROBLEM.
So brand new 4k Receiver box, brand new (actually 3 of them) 4k TV. I decided to replace my HDMI cable with a higher quality/higher rated cable and that instant fixed my problem. I fought with this for WEEKS just so I could watch 1 show in 4k and all along I just needed this cable for $15.
