The mosquitos don’t seem to be the main problem. What they can’t control are the biting yellow flies. They dive bomb you and land on any patch of bare skin they can find. That includes your eyes, ears and even into your mouth! But just as soon as you kill one there are probably two others to take their place. Fortunately they can’t bite through cloth very easily but they still annoy the heck out of you.

Off! Deep Woods is one of the few repellents that actually keep them from landing on you. I give my whole ensemble a spray-over to show them that I’m serious. Because of the heat/humidity and sweat I generate the dose has to be repeated every hour. One of the last defenses I added to my get-up is a mosquito netting hat that covers my face and mouth.
