Can I make my guitar sound acoustic without buying another guitar?

  • 0

I am a lead guitarist in a few bands. Recently I have gotten a few smaller gigs that don’t pay or don’t pay much and they are insisting on them being acoustic shows. Unfortunately I pretty much hate playing acoustic guitars unless they very, very nice. This also means they are very, very expensive. So instead of buying a new guitar for more than $1000 dollars, I started searching around the internet for a different option. I found exactly what I needed with the Hotone Omni AC Simulation Guitar Bass Effects Pedal.

The great thing about this is that it doesn’t just let me sound like one type of acoustic guitar, it actually models multiple different kinds. So I can pick and choose between different sounds that I want to have for different songs. I believe there is like 15 or so to choose from and they all sound great. There is even some bass preset in there that let me use my bass guitar as well. The screen and buttonn are super well lit so it is easy to use at live shows with low lighting.

This little guy is great and has really broaden the horizons for me and the group. It is a lot easier to spend less that $200 on a pedal than to go and drop hundreds or more on a decent acoustic guitar. This has even made me even more money in the long run since i can take more types of gigs than I would have been able to before. For the price it is definitely worth checking out if you find you have a similar problem. It really is a great addition to my pedal board and I don’t see it leaving any time soon.
